Drum stand (type: ASSH 2500W)
The Drum stand can carry up to 50 tons cable and can be rigged onto a multi-purpose vessel, or used ashore.
The drum is a self-contained steel construction coated in an antirust zinc primer. It is driven by electric motors with encoder feedback. The motors, that are marine standard, have a built in electric failsafe brake. The brakes are controlled by frequency converters to ensure that the brakes are not released without full control of the load. The frequency converters control the speed. The motors and frequency converters have the possibility for running in tension control during laying. |
